The Commission of the Yellow Rose of Texas is an honorary commission conferred by the Governor of Texas to Texas women for exceptional community service. It was instituted in 1957 and is named for Emily Morgan, the original “Yellow Rose of Texas”, who was instrumental in the victory of San Jacinto and Texas independence. Natalie was surprised by her husband SMSgt. (Ret.) Stuart C. Wilson.
The Commission of the Yellow Rose of Texas was bestowed on Natalie in recognition of her service to military spouses, including leadership in the Military Spouse JD Network, and support of military charities.
