  • Buddy Banack celebrates 50 years

    Shareholder Emerson “Buddy” Banack, Jr. celebrated his 50 year anniversary practicing law on Wednesday, May 6th at the Plaza Club.  His family and colleagues, including Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Ronald B. King, who is a former Langley & Banack attorney, and Dr. William L. Heinrich, President of the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, gave speeches honoring Buddy and his contributions to the legal field and the San Antonio community.  To read Buddy’s reflections on practicing for 50 years, click on the following link to his interview with the San Antonio Business Journal’s Katie Burke.

  • Tom Veitch appointed to Texas Workers’ Compensation Appeals Panel

    Shareholder Thomas H. Veitch has been appointed by the Commissioner of Insurance as the public representative on the Texas Workers’ Compensation Appeals Panel.  The Panel is part of the Texas Department of Insurance and Mr. Veitch will hear cases from across the state.

  • Bob Werner Elected Mayor of Shavano Park

    Tax and Employee Benefits Shareholder Bob Werner was elected Mayor of the City of Shavano Park this month.  Mr. Werner has been an active member of the City of Shavano Park government having served as a Councilman and on the Planning & Zoning Committee, where he has served as Chairman since 2006.  Mr. Werner replaces Mayor Pro Tem Michele Bunting Ross.

  • Rob Ramsey wins New Yorker Caption Contest

    Shareholder Rob Ramsey’s caption was voted #1 by The New Yorker readers on April 6, 2015.  Each week there are approximately 5,000 entries in the caption contest, so selection as a finalist is a great honor.  Rob is not only a talented appellate and family lawyer, he is also a gifted comedic writer.  Congratulations, Rob.

  • Former Chief Justice Stone inducted into San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame

    Shareholder and appellate practice group leader, Catherine M. Stone, was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 21, 2015.  The purpose of the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame is to provide scholarships for local women looking to pursue higher education.  Langley & Banack is glad to support such an important organization in our community and we congratulate Former Chief Justice Stone and all of the 2015 inductees into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame.

  • Shareholder Steven D. Browne elected ABOTA president

    The San Antonio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) has elected Steven D. Browne as 2015 president. ABOTA is a national organization of experienced trial lawyers on both sides of the docket who support the 7th Amendment right to a civil trial by jury and is devoted to promoting ethics, integrity, and professionalism.   • Patrick Rouse named to Leadership San Antonio Class 40

    Shareholder Patrick Rouse has been selected for Leadership San Antonio’s Class 40 for 2015.  Organized and sponsored by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, many of the most influential leaders in and around our city have participated in Leadership San Antonio.  Participants are driven to increase their commitment to the community by participating in key leadership positions and they have service meetings throughout the year.  Hundreds of people apply for this program every year and it is a tremendous honor to be selected.

  • Rob Ramsey receives high honor from Best Lawyers in America

    Shareholder Robinson C. Ramsey has been named the Appellate Lawyer of the Year in San Antonio by Woodward and White’s Best Lawyers in America.  Rob was selected by his peers based on his vast experience in appellate law and his reputation as one of the top writers and speakers on appellate-related topics.  He has been named to Best Lawyers in America since 2010.
