Eddie is the State Representative for House District 74, covering 12 counties throughout South and West Texas. He focuses his time in Austin on increasing access to higher education in our border communities and state funding for local infrastructure improvements.
As an attorney, Eddie has a general practice focused on municipal law and civil litigation. He is Shareholder-in-Charge of the Eagle Pass office involving a diverse practice handling matters related to estate and probate, family and real estate law, commercial litigation, small business contractual law, and transactional work. Eddie’s practice is focused mainly on the state district court system throughout South-Central Texas. He serves as general counsel and provides legal advice to local and regional governmental entities in Maverick County and the surrounding communities. As an Eagle Pass native, Eddie has had the opportunity to serve and assist out-of-town legal counsel and their respective companies by serving as local counsel for the defense on numerous occasions in the South-Central counties surrounding Eagle Pass. His invaluable experience, relationships, and knowledge have equalized the playing field for attorneys and companies unfamiliar with the South Texas court system. In short, Eddie has become the go-to lawyer for local counsel work in Maverick County and the surrounding communities.
Ruben O. Valadez is a Shareholder in Langley & Banack’s Eagle Pass office. He practices in the areas of governmental law, real estate, corporate, probate, and litigation. He has extensive experience representing municipalities and governmental bodies and boards throughout Central and South Texas as city attorney, municipal court prosecutor, and general counsel. He is also experienced in civil and personal injury litigation, having worked on behalf of injured clients and in insurance defense. Ruben has also served as local counsel for businesses outside of Maverick County.
Ruben is a former public school educator and administrator. He spent nearly ten years teaching journalism to high school students and serving as an assistant principal in the Eagle Pass Independent School District. He still enjoys visiting various campuses to speak at Career Day and other events. Ruben is passionate about promoting education in Maverick County and beyond.
Erica splits her time between our Labor and Employment and Government practice groups. Fluent in Spanish and a native of the Rio Grande Valley, Erica assists clients all over South and Central Texas with diverse and complicated matters.
