Celebrating Women’s History Month: Meet Sara Murray

We are continuing our Women’s History Month series with Shareholder Sara Murray. Sara is an appellate attorney whose practice embraces all aspects of civil appellate law. She has handled many types of trial and appellate litigation throughout her career, but her main focus has been on commercial, oil and gas, and bankruptcy cases.

 

Do you have a woman, inside or outside the practice of law, who inspires (or inspired) you in life?

My mother.  She did not really inspire me, but she motivated me, taught me skills and principles, and gave me opportunities that enabled me to succeed.  In many ways, she was a pioneer in that she was one of the first women to be ordained and called to pastor a church.

What interested you in practicing law?

The law itself.  

What is your favorite book?

Hard to choose.  I guess William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury.

What is your favorite quote?

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”  Wayne Dyer
